Ready for everything to get easier?
Whether you’re leading a busy content team or trying to do all the things as a one man band, (I’ve been both), the pressure can get intense.
You feel like you’re being chased by that giant boulder – you know the one, from Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Before you know it, you’re surrounded. In a content jungle with no clear route to a more balanced environment. Burnout can happen fast. I’ve been in that position.
That’s why when I set up my freelance writing business, my mission was to help remove a huge chunk of that stress for you.

Cut to...
April 2023. I handed my notice in and set up Writers Of The Lost Art, a freelance writing business and my mission very quickly became not just about creating great content, but about making everything a bit easier for other content managers and business owners, because I know what it’s like to have that never-ending to-do list.
I didn’t want my work or presence to contribute to the level of stress that you might feel on a daily basis in your job, so alleviating some of that pressure is key for me to achieve for you.
I get a real buzz out of hearing clients literally sigh with relief when they start working with me.
And now I’m able to bring not only 12 years of writing experience, which includes 7 years in a search agency, but also my very varied past careers into play.
Hi! I’m Danielle, the Indiana Jones of content and copywriting, having lots of adventures with words.
Picture the scene...
Back in 2022 I was a content team lead in a top search agency, managing a group of writers, creating systems and processes, brainstorming, writing, editing, proofing and project managing content across at least 20 clients.
I was constantly busy, flipping from task to task and being pulled in so many different directions every day I’m surprised my head didn’t spin off into another dimension.
And then shock, horror, I burnt out.
Struggling to get out of bed some days, I was having health issues and I knew something had to change. So I made the difficult decision to leave my job.
My origin story..
I started out in TV and film. I’ve been a make-up artist, a charity co-ordinator, a teaching assistant, a creative projects quality assurer, a social media manager, and more!
Telling stories and helping others is just wired into me. I’ve also worked with clients across lots of industries, including the SaaS space, finance, hospitality, automotive, ecommerce, home & garden and coaching.
MY METHODS
Having so much experience across different sectors and work environments has certainly made me adaptable. It’s also taught me the true value of integrity, kindness, accountability and respect.
I don’t believe in sleazy, lazy, negative marketing tactics. I think everyone is sick of that and the world needs us to do better.
As a freelancer, I work remotely, but I’m organised, communicative and process-driven so you’ll never wonder what I’m up to!
What it’s like to work with me
“Simply put, you just made everything easier. You could take any brief I threw your way and turn it into something really thoughtful and compelling, covering a whole range of topics and levels of product expertise. I found you really communicative and never had to chase or wonder what you were up to on any given day. You made everything easier with your clear communication, process-driven approach and general autonomy to really research topics and come to me with questions where needed. I am impressed at how quickly you were able to build trust and rapport with me and also colleagues, given that most of our communication was electronic.I also just think you are a nice and positive person, which I can’t overstate the importance of.”- Sally Wills, Senior Content Strategy Manager, Braze
“Danielle’s ability to quickly understand not only what I was aiming for but the actual brand image I wanted to create was just brilliant. Danielle is professional, friendly, easy to communicate with and has a wonderful sense of humour, which for me is so important. I cannot recommend her highly enough.” – Nicola Carruthers, Owner of Beeswing Lodge
